What you get

Why use Mergevanta to convert a web page to PDF

Rendered by a real browser

Pages are opened in headless Chromium, so modern CSS, web fonts, images and scripts look the way they do on screen. Text stays selectable and links stay clickable.

One long page, if you like

Save the whole page as a single tall PDF page with no page breaks, or fit it onto A4 or Letter pages in portrait or landscape.

Cleaner captures

Hide cookie banners and choose the desktop, tablet or mobile layout. A short wait helps pages that animate in.

Isolated and never stored

Each page opens in a throwaway browser that can only reach public websites. The PDF is sent straight back and nothing is kept.

FAQ

HTML to PDF questions

No. The page is opened in a fresh, isolated browser on Mergevanta's server, printed to PDF and sent straight back to you. The browser is thrown away after each conversion, and no copy of the page, the file or the PDF is kept.

Pages behind a login or paywall can't be reached, some sites block automated browsers, and addresses on private or local networks (such as localhost or 192.168.x.x) are refused for security. Only public web pages work.

It makes a single PDF page as wide as the chosen screen and as tall as the web page, with no page breaks. PDF pages can be at most 200 inches tall, so a longer page is split into a few tall pages.

HTML files can be up to 2 MB, and the finished PDF can be up to about 4 MB. If a page with many large images comes out bigger, try the Mobile screen width or turn off Print backgrounds, then shrink it further with Compress PDF.

Only if they're inside the file. Pictures and stylesheets saved next to the .html file can't be read, so embed them or link them with full https:// addresses. Scripts in the file run while it renders, but can only reach public websites.

Yes. The conversion runs on the server, so it works in any modern browser on iPhone, iPad, Android and desktop, with nothing to install.
