Why use Mergevanta to convert PowerPoint to PDF

Every slide, one page

Each slide is drawn at its own size, 16:9 or 4:3, with its background, master graphics, pictures, tables and shapes in place.

Text wraps like PowerPoint

Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New are matched with metric-compatible fonts and kerning, so lines break where PowerPoint breaks them.

Old .ppt files too

PowerPoint 97–2003 decks are read directly, along with .pptm, slide shows and templates — no need to re-save them first.

Private by design

Your deck is encrypted before it leaves the browser, converted in memory and deleted as soon as the PDF is sent back.

FAQ

PowerPoint to PDF questions

Yes — PowerPoint files are converted on Mergevanta's server. The deck is encrypted in your browser before upload, converted in memory and deleted as soon as the PDF is sent back. Nothing is stored or logged.

The server takes files up to 4 MB. Bigger .pptx decks have their pictures scaled down in your browser so they fit; for an old .ppt file over the limit, export it as PDF from PowerPoint or Keynote instead.

Text, shapes, pictures, tables and SmartArt saved with its drawing are rendered. Charts can't be drawn yet and show as a labelled placeholder, and videos show their poster frame. The result names every slide affected.

Common Office fonts are swapped for metric-compatible open fonts with the same widths and kerning, so text wraps in the same places. Rare or decorative fonts fall back to a close standard font. Hindi, Arabic, Chinese and other scripts are supported.

Hidden slides are left out unless you turn on Include hidden slides. Add speaker notes makes notes pages instead — each slide at the top with its notes underneath, like printing Notes Pages in PowerPoint.

Not yet. Remove the password in PowerPoint first (File → Info → Protect Presentation), save the deck and add it again.
