What you get

Why use Mergevanta to convert Word to PDF

Looks the same everywhere

A PDF renders identically in any viewer, which is exactly what you want before sending a contract, report or résumé.

Full formatting carried across

Styles, fonts, colours, tables with merged cells, images, numbered and bulleted lists, footnotes, headers and footers all appear in the PDF.

Lines break like Word

Calibri, Cambria, Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New are matched with metric-compatible fonts, so text wraps where Word wraps it.

Nothing is kept

Your document is converted in memory and the PDF is sent straight back to your browser. Nothing is stored or logged.

FAQ

Word to PDF questions

Both .doc (Word 97–2003) and .docx, plus .docm and .dotx. Old .doc files are read directly — no need to re-save them first.

Images, tables, lists, headers, footers, footnotes and page numbers are included. Charts, SmartArt and EMF/WMF drawings are not drawn yet — save those as pictures in Word first.

Common Office fonts are swapped for metric-compatible open fonts, so spacing and line breaks match. Rare or decorative fonts fall back to a close standard font.

Latin, Greek and Cyrillic text renders fully. Scripts that need complex shaping, such as Hindi or Arabic, may not join correctly yet.

Our server takes up to 4 MB per conversion. When a .docx is larger because of its pictures, they are scaled down in your browser first so the full-quality converter can still be used; a basic text-only conversion in your browser is the last resort.
