What you get

Why use Mergevanta to split a PDF

Four ways to split

Type ranges, set a page count per file, save every page on its own, or tap the scissors between two thumbnails. Colored frames show which file each page goes into.

Pages copied, not re-rendered

Text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Rotation, comments, bookmarks, form fields and links between pages of the same file come along.

Never leaves your device

Splitting happens in your browser, so the PDF isn't uploaded anywhere — handy for contracts, statements and medical records.

Built for big documents

Hundreds of pages split in seconds on a modern laptop, with progress for every file. Password-protected PDFs open once you enter the password.

FAQ

Split PDF questions

No. Split PDF runs entirely in your browser: the file is read and split on your device and never sent to a server, so nothing is stored anywhere.

There's no fixed limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory, but a few hundred pages split comfortably on a modern phone or laptop.

No. Pages are copied as they are, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. Each file keeps the original page size and rotation.

Each file keeps the bookmarks that point to its pages and the form fields on those pages, still fillable. Links between pages of the same file keep working; links to pages that went into another file are removed, since they would lead nowhere.

Yes. Enter the password when asked; it's only used in your browser tab to open the file. The split files are saved without a password — use Protect PDF to add one back.

Yes. Split PDF works in iPhone and Android browsers: tap the scissors between two pages to cut there, then download the files one by one or as a .zip.

Type a single range such as 2-5 to get one PDF with just those pages, or use Extract pages to pick pages by tapping them.
